'Check it out' Section



What is this section about?
This section is a place where will be exposed awesome things I have found on the web on Iruka-sensei - Fanficts, doujinshi, fanarts and even music.
Now, let's call a cat a cat; I am a KakaIru (KakashixIruka) fan. I don't think I'm surprising anyone here, heh? Well, you can guess that most of the cool stuff I have to show you is KakaIru! But because I love you guys and know that lots of you don't enjoy this pairing as much as me, I'm presently trying to find you good Iruka stuff that isn't KakaIru. I'm working hard on it, I swear!

WARNING
If you ever read shounen-ai/yaoi fanfics or Doujinshi, you propably know pretty well that it's not easy at all to find good fanfics/doujinshi that doesn't show explicit sex... I'm not a big fan of hardcore stuff and I don't plan on providing you a lot of it. But I guess I'll have to give you some of it, and not only sweet stuff. I just wanted to warn you and reassure you: EVERYTHING shown here will always be accurately rated. So if you don't want to burn your innocent eyes, don't read mature stuff. The rest will be riskfree, I promise!

Feel free to send the club awesome stuff you've found about Iruka! If it passes my rating test, then I'll be more than happy to add it to the section - with the name of the person who kindly provided it to us, of course!

Manager's rant: A very cute little doujin, with cute art and a very sweet plot. Blushing-Iruka lovers, ayoy! This is for you! But although Iruka blusehd a lot in this doujin, he is not overly weak or girlish, which is a nice change.

Manager's rant: [KakaIru...?] Just another Naruto parody AMV I found and I thought the ending was hilarious. The beginning isn't really fun, but believe me, the ending is really worth watching the whole thing! If you want to skip the boring part, start the AMV at 1min 28.

Summary: [KakaIru] After coming back from a long mission, Iruka and Kakashi go out together on a bright sunny day.
Manager's rant: If you enjoyed the KakaIru art coming from Halco I've showed you, then you definitely should read this, since it's an authentic Halco doujin. I must admit that she's not my favourite doujinshika, but I know lot of people love her, so. This story's plot is very sweet and actually a lot more romantic than I espected it to be.

I'm SOOOOORRRY for the lack of updates! To apologize, I'm bringing up for you today the Update of DOOM! I'm gonna put so much stuff in there that you won't be able to check all of it in one full evening! Watch out, it bites!
Thanks a lot to all of you who answered my persistent questions about this section's content. So on the whole, I plan on keeping on showing you as much KakaIru, but I'll try to add some other random pairings here and there. And, of course, more stuff featuring only Iruka because I know it'll please everyone.
But you also have to understand that will be shown here only what I can find. Of course I'll try looking for stuff that'll interest you, but that's all I can do. I hope you understand.

Manager's rant: Not the best doujin I've read, but it sures has a cute plot. I'm not exactly fond of the doujinshika's artwork, but I know some of you'll like it.

Toshihiko Songs
Manager's rant: You liked those songs I gave you from Seki Toshihiko, Iruka's seiyuu (Japanese voice actor)? Then I have some more for you. In fact, I have a damn HUGE lot of it!!! I was browsing on Aarinfantasy (does that surprise you? XD ) and I ran across that guy who was giving away a link to some Toshihiko Seki livejournal communauty. There's so much Toshihiko stuff over there that I haven't even finished downloading all of it yet! Of course, some songs are really great while others are just... ordinary. There's even some Japanese BL drama CDs in the lot - I wish I could understand japanese! On all I downloaded, I especially enjoyed the songs On the line (I shiver everytime I hear Seki's deep voice!)Trigger and Go to the West.

Manager's rant: First off, I wanna thank from the bottom of my heart ~sagatanasu for all those image links she gave me! I have something like 15 whole Japanese image websites in stock for the next updates because of her! So thanks a lot!
Well we'll start slowly with the first website of the list. It has some really beautiful images and, judging from it's style, I would tend to think that the artist who drew it is the same person who drew the doujinshi "Ameshitataru" (remember, Kakashi brings a wounded cat to Iruka?). Well you'll see for youself. She is also the artist who made the wonderful pic that I used to make our lovely avatar!
Most of the stuff over there is slight KakaIru. But you will also find some very beautiful images with no pairings at all. (And the crossed images are a bit naughty... you've been warned) Now I know that you guys don't speak more japanese than I do, so browsing on a Japanese Website might seem bothersome for you. I assure you it is not. All the images are cropped in little squares. You click on them and you get a wider version. And when you're done watching all the images on the page, you can choose one of the 4 other sections and have some other images. See? It's pretty simple. So don't miss them out! I personnaly think the first ones are the best.

Crayon Exerpt
Summary: [soft yaoi, KakaIru] Iruka scold Kakashi for stealing a forbidden justu roll, but it is in fact a forbidden scroll for people under 18! And Kakashi intend to use it to ravish his favourite sensei... But what happen if some of the justsu does not dissapear?
Manager's rant: I know this summary does sound very pervy, but the story isn't that much. Well, it IS, but it's still an acceptable kind of pervy (to people like me who've seen far worst at least). Truly SUPERB, magnificient, awesome art there though! And the plot is fun too - if you're into soft yaoi, of course. This doujin is NOT worksafe, but believe me, this is nothing compared to some doujins existing on the hard yaoi market... Anyway. You've been warned. If you dare reading it nonetheless, then enjoy!!!

Manager's rant: This is an image I've been given from ~grayishfeather (thanks a lot dear!) from some Chinese Naruto compilation she owns. On the whole, you can see on this sole page different looks Masashi Kishimoto first thought to give him. Seriously, some of them are just so HORRIBLE that they're hilarious! You gotta see this!
Just to imagine our sweet Iruka could have looked that way... *shivers*

Okay, this is going to be a big update! I won't even show all the stuff I wanted to because it'll be too much for just one update. I'll update next week with other stuff - there will the official looks of Iruka when the author first wanted to create that character. You'll see, they're hillarious!

The Dolphin and the Cherry Blossom ~ Suggested by ~SaionjiFan
Summary: [IruSaku/SakuIru] Those are a series of short drabbles involving Sakura and Iruka and showing their love.
Manager's rant: Now I think that i made it pretty clear in the previous updates that I was a total KakaIru addict *looks away*. So of course, I don't enjoy other pairings as much, but I'll try to be fair. Those drabbles are not bad - some of them are really touching. More than what's written, it's the emotion hidden behind that make them so enjoyable. Most of them are angst too, so if you like angst, those are for you!

The beginning ~ Suggested by ~SaionjiFan
Summary: [KakaIru] "Kakashi saw something that night. And his whole perspective changed." On the whole, this story is about how Kakashi fell for Iruka and tried to win his heart with his very own -and, surprisingly enough, very sweet- way of doing things.
Manager's rant: That's fun because when ~SaionjiFan suggested me that fanfic (even though she's a IruSaku fan - thanks a lot again for your devotion to the club!), I told her that I never read it. But I fact I had already read it, I just didn't remeber its title. When I read the first sentence of the fanfiction, I recognized it at once. Well ~SaionjiFan, I don't know who told you about that fanfiction, but you have some friends who have good taste because that's a real good one. Well the first chapter of the story is totally awesome (so cute! You gotta read it!), but the rest is a bit too, I don't know how to explain it - too sweet, or cliché maybe- to be totally believable. But honestly, which KakaIru fan truly cares about what's believable and what's not? It's an incredibly cute story, if you like sweet stories, read that one, it won't dissapoint you at all!

Videos: KakaIru AMV
Manager's rant: That's a link I found on Kakairu livejournal and I thought some of you would like to see them! Those are KakaIru AMV - animated music videos, I think. For those who have never heard about it, they are shot videos made of several Anime animated scenes (in this case, Naruto) with a known song in the background. Those are not bad, it's just a shame that there aren't a lot of scenes involving Iruka in the anime to start with, which doesn't give a lot of possibilities to the AMV makers. Anyway, some of them are really great, you should watch the all! I especially enjoyed the first one. Even if you're not a KakaIru lover, you should watch them for the beautiful images and scenes - in fact, there's almost no visual Kakairu in those videos. They show scenes involving Kakashi, then scenes involving Iruka. If there wouldn't ba a soundtrack talking about love, you wouldn't suspect any KakaIru at all.

The Amorous Adventures of Ayame the Ramen Girl ~ Suggested by ~Beautiful-Wolf
Summary: [AyamexKakashi, AyamexIruka] As its author wrote, this story is "a comedic love triangle involving the ramen girl from Ichiraku, Iruka and Kakashi. After seeing Kakashi's face, Ayame (the Ichiraku Ramen waitress) becomes obsessed with Kakashi and enlists the aid of Sakura to win his heart. Little does she know that Naruto has mistakenly assumed she likes Iruka, and sets into motion a little matchmaking of his own..." I thought her summary was really good, so I copied it!
Manager's rant: This is the story ~Beautiful-Wolf suggested me a while ago and that I couldn't find anywhere. Honestly, I didn't read the whole story! But it's not because it's not good! I'm not into love triangles or other stories where you just can SEE they are all stuck and whatever what happen, they'll be in deep shit anyway - most of the time, because of a misunderstanding too. I'm too sensitive so I feel really bad for the characters and I quit reading because I don't want to know what happens next! I'm not kidding, I'm really like that - that's one of the reasons why I'm not able to listen to teenagers movies like American pie and stuff like that. So I didn't finish it... But it seems like a good fanfiction - if you like love triangles and the problems they create, that is.
Rating: I haven't read all the chapters, but it seems to be General.

Manager's rant: Remeber I asked you if you wanted to hear songs sang by Iruka's seiyuu (japanese anime voice) in other animes that Naruto? Well somebody ( ~samppa89 ) requested to hear some of them, so here they are! Thanks to ~Iruka-sama (I think it was her) who sent those songs to me! If you guys have some songs featuring Seki Toshihiko as Iruka, please let me know, I'm looking for some of them (they are so rare!). the only one I have so far is Furigana (KakaIru)- if you want to download it, look at the very bottom of the section, it was in the first update.

Sorry for the lack of updates everybody! I've been pretty busy and, althought it might not look like it, updating this section is very long and painful.
Today I will show you the stuff that was suggested by our kind members, like it or not. Now, I just KNOW that I received more suggestions than that, but I found nothing else in the note archive (which is getting HUGE) or in the comments of the section. Sure enough, ~Beautiful-Wolf suggested me to read "The misadventures of Ayame the Ramen girl" and I know I read some chapters of it, but now I can't find it anywhere on ff.net. It dissapeared into thin air! 0_o That's just my luck... If I forgot one of your suggestions, please tell me so and I will add it right away. Thanks a lot to all the kind members who suggested and shared stuff with the club. You contribution to this section is very appreciated!

Hey, would any of you be interested in hearing songs done by the Seiyuu who does Iruka's voice in the Japanese Anime, Seki Toshihiko? Because ~Iruka-sama (or at least I think she was the one who sent them to me... It's been so long, please forgive me if I'm wrong!) gave me a few months back some songs done by Toshihiko, but in other animes: mostly Saiyuki (Sanzo) and Gundam Wings (Duo). Those are NOT songs done by Iruka, but by his seiyuu for other animes. Anyone's interested in hearing them?

Anyway, I still have a lot of good doujinshi and fanfics waiting for you guys! (I even plan on showing you some mature stuff - watch out for your virgin eyes XD!) They're coming in the following updates!


Aramahoshi ~ Suggested by ~tyrsownrue
Summary: [KakaIru, light shounen-ai] Um, well it's pretty hard to do a summary of this doujinshi because it's a raw one. Which means it hadn't been translated. Which mean it's in Japanease. And unfortunately, I have no translation of the doujinshi and I can only randomly spot syllabes with my Japanese skills (I AM PROUD!). As far as I (or anyone else) can tell, Kakashi brings Iruka a Child version of himself and just then a chibi Kakashi also appears out of a box. Back at Iruka's place, they have to deal with the two younsters. Since I don't have a clue of what they're talking about most of the time, I can't tell if it's truly KakaIru or not, but one can assume it is.
Manager's rant: Like I told you earlier, this doujinshi is in Japanese, but I thought it would be interesting to show it anyway because it seems to be very sweet and the lineart is truly awesome. And it loooks like it's fun as well, but it's almost impossible to understand jokes since they are in japanese. Too bad we don't have the translations for that one... If anybody has those translation, please contact me to share them with the club!

Liking the sea the most ~ provided by ~Iruka-sama
Summary: [KakaIru] When the summer vacation starts, Kakashi finds a way to convinve the reluctant Iruka to spend the day with him at the beach. Then, he becomes a bit more daring, to Iruka's horror. But he has ways of self-defence!
Manager's rant: That is another beautiful doujinshi, thanks a lot to ~Iruka-sama for sharing it with me! The story is very fun and somewhat romantic/deadly sweet toward the end. It's always amusing to see Kakashi trying so hard to win Iruka's heart (or more like a peek at what's under his pants) and Iruka being very reluctant, always runing away and smaching Kakashi around his head for his pervyness. That just gave me pure satisfaction for some reasons... I think I'm weird. Heh. Anyway, this doujinshi's lineart is absolutely gorgeous, to the reader's greatest pleasure. Another must to read for KakaIru fans. ^^

Banana
Summary: [KakaIru, light shounen-ai] One evening, Iruka runs into a maskless Kakashi on his way to the bath house. As they head together to the bath house, they talk randomly...
Manager's rant: Okay, the title has really nothing at all to do with the story! I swear! This is one of the cutest doujinshi I've ever seen, one scene is especially adorable - you'll see! At some point, you can see that the doujinshika isn't a professional one, but the lineart is really good anyway. This doujinshi is really sweet and very light, it's a must to read for true shounen-ai lovers.

Summary: [Kakairu] Iruka got himself a mission and, even though it's quite a simple one, Kakashi is worried. Because of his sickness, he can't follow him around! But will his sickness stop him from keeping an eye on his most favourite person?
Manager's rant: This is just a cute little doujin for Kakairu lovers out there. It's rather amusing and cute. Plus, the lineart is not bad! And even though it's plainly KakaIru, it's completely general.

Manager's rant: Okay, I know it sounds a bit ridiculous, but it's actually rather good. There are some OCs and a very huge guess about Iruka's mother's past, who supposely used to be an important exiled member of a original village. I think this fanfic is focusing a bit to much on the author's original world, but that's just my personnal opinion. If you don't mind reading these kind of stories, then read "The Esoteric". Up to now, there are no pairing hints

Manager's rant: Those are images I ran across on the web - I have absolutely NO IDEA where I found most of them
Anyway, I opened a photobucket album just to be able to show them to you guys. I hope you'll enjoy them!
To be fair, I put the KakaIru images together and the Iruka ones together. So if you absolutely don't want to see anthing that is lightly Kakairu, you just don't look at the Kakairu ones. Althought I highly recommend you to check them out as well, most of them have almost no KakaIru hints and are truly superb. I also realized that a lot of those images were comming from the doujinshi maker Halco's japanese gallery (you can find it here, by the way). So I did a section just for her images. In any case, I made sure that none of them came from dA, because they are already in the club's favourites. You should take a look at those as well, there are some awesome works coming from dA artists waiting for you over there!

Kimi ga suki and Mochi
Summary: These are two stories in the same file: Kimi ga suki by Halco and Mochi by Noel-yuri. In the first one, Iruka is so happy to have received a mysterious picture from Naruto that he gives his favourite ex-student a picture of himself when he was young. Curious, Kakashi wants to find out what is the mysterious picture about [shounen-ai, KakaIru]. In the second one, Iruka invites Naruto and Kakashi over for the New year eve and drags them with him to see the first sun rise of the New Year.
Manager's rant: Those two story are different but really cute. The first's one artwork is beautiful and the story is sweet and fun (Iruka blushes a lot. What's better than Iruka blushing, seriously? ^^). If you liked Halco's images, read this short story. Mochi's plot is really good: the story is both funny and extremely cute. It's a shame that the lineart is not that great... Well you should read it anyway. There's almost no KakaIru "factor" in this story. The whole story is about Naruto anyway. Enjoy ^^

Video: Iruka clips
Manager's rant: We all know how rare are Iruka's appearances in the anime (and in the manga as well, unfortunately). Those are small clips from the anime and most of them are showing Iruka! There is even the famous "holding hands" scene between Iruka and Kakashi - every KakaIru fans are talking about it like it's a big thing, but actually it's really platonic. I think that seeing in this scene a sort of hint that proves Iruka's relationship with Kakashi is just... laughable. Anyway. Enjoy your clips!

Manager's rant: I thought it was somewhat cute. You could say that it's light KakaIru in some kind of very twisted way - those are dogs, really. Urk, I don't want to think too much about it...

The Silent Blade
Summary: [light KakaIru] All that glitters is not gold, all that is steel does not glitter... Kakashi is going to learn that the hard way, as he pries into something he probably shouldn't have.
Manager's rant: I think this fanfict is a classic for stronger-than-he-looks Iruka lovers. In this story, Iruka is the finest Hunter (I think the author created that rank, something similar to ANBU) of Konoha and copes with his difficult double life and huge responsabilities. I think it's well written and interesting - the author describes Iruka's messed up feelings really well and has a very efficient writing style, alternating between action and description so (annoyingly) well that the suspense is always present (a very good rithm, I mean). The plot is awesome - very original but just realist enough to make you want to believe it - and Iruka is not too astonishingly strong, which is unfortunately often the case in those kind of fanficts. I highly recommand this fanfict for both ligh angst and adventure/supense lovers. The latest chapters are really trilling! ^^
Rating: TEEN. The KakaIru "factor" is light and I chose this rating mostly because of the rather bloody fighting scenes.


The White Wind and The Sun
Summary: [KakaIru] Kakashi is dragged by Gai into a challenge to win... Iruka's heart! How will the poor chuunin react to Gai's flirt? What will Team seven do to defend their clueless teacher? What will be Kakashi's reaction? (Ohhh, this summary sucks...)
Manager's rant: The summary sounds pervy, but this story really isn't perverted at all. It's just really hilarious, especially with Sakura's commenting on Gai and Kakashi's flirting techniques - and with our alway clueless favourite chuunin, of course! The artwork is truly awesome and the whole affair is also cute (cute and hilarious, who wants more?). A must!
Rating: Humm, I'd say General, even though there is one chuu (light kiss)

Manager's rant: Another 6 pages doujinshi, but this one is waaaaay better than the last one! The story is really cute and funny (Young team Kakashi and young Iruka are just adorable!) and the lineart is wonderful - seems to be coming from the same artist who did "Silver Neko"! You've got to read it, even if it's just to see the 10 years old Iruka eating ramen! ^^

Shinobi no Okite Gaiden - Part 11
Summary: [No pairing] Naruto Centric. Naruto wants to help Iruka but ends up loosing something dear to him...
Manager's rant: That's the non KakaIru doujinshi I was talking about! It's a cute little story, the kind of story that makes you all "aww" . The lineart is beautiful and characters are true to themselves - the only thing I could reproach to it is that it doesn't show Iruka as often as I would have wished... But overall it's a great doujinshi, and I highly suggest to all of you to read it! ^^

Silver Neko
Summary: [light KakaIru] Flashes of Iruka's life about his beloved silver cat...
Manager's rant: That's a cute and fluffy little story with kickass artwork - or at least I think so. KakaIru addicts will recognize at once the doujinshika's style, there are a lot of KakaIru images on the web coming from him/her. It's a shame the story not longer, really.
Rating: General. There's some cuddling at the end, but that's all you'll get for now.

Summary: [light KakaIru] Kakashi is set to take care of Iruka after a mission gone bad. Iruka has difficulties dealing with his new status (both physically and mentally) and the fact the he has to rely on no other than Kakashi, a man that seems to hate him, is not helping...
Manager's rant: This is seriously the best KakaIru fanfict I've ever read - and I've read quite a few of them, thank you very much! This fanfict is long and angsty, but not too much. Just enough to be very realist. The author knows how to make us feel Iruka's frustration, fear, confusion and Kakashi's helplessness, making them seem so human and making the reader want to help them so much... Their feelings, intensified by the beautiful writing style of the author, and the rather good and very realist story-line of this fanfict are worth reading at least once. A must!
Rating: TEEN. There's a bit of yaoi in later chapters, but really nothing to burn your eyes. But I want to warn you that it might change: I know the author's style and I can tell there's gonna be mature stuff in the soon-to-be chapters. But fo now, this fanfict is worksafe.

Summary: [No pairing] (maybe a slight bit of KakaIru if you really really look for it) When Iruka goes to the jounin exam of Team 7, people start wondering why he never took it himself. Kakashi wants to find out too ^^
Manager's rant: That's a good fanfict. I especially enjoyed the author's theory about Iruka's past and how he got his scar: it might not be the most realist one, but it's a good and enjoyable one. Some people (*cough* hysteric yaoi fangirls) say it's KakaIru, but I they're mostly just being friendly. Give us a break.

I HAVE to share this with the few KakaIru lovers of this club! This is a love song sang by Inoue Kazuhiko and Seki Toshihiko, the seiyuu who did Kakashi and Iruka's voice in the japanese anime. The music is really not my style and the lyrics are kinda weird and funny, but I just love it so much! I couldn't help but giggle in glee when I first heard both of them singning together, like a real fangirl (I know, shame to me). You'll understand when you'll listen to it, believe me
